Adobe Creative Cloud Review

Creative Cloud is a subscription based model for all of Adobe most successful products.  The company made a huge announcement at the Adobe MAX conference in May about taking its entire suite to the cloud to prevent software privacy and provide new updates over the air.  The traditional formation of Adobe, such as Photoshop was a hard sell, because some of the formats would cost almost $700.  Now, the digital artist community can pay between $20 – $50 monthly for the same tools in a new web-ready format.

Some highlights:

  • Creative Cloud is letting you to get the newest features without paying expensive upgrades.
  • You are getting 20GB in the cloud.
  • Creative Cloud Learn has over 200 tutorials to learn from.
  • Digital Publishing Suite will help you create iPad apps without having to write lines of coding.
  • Get responsive layouts fast with the help of the new Photoshop feature.  This new feature automatically resizes images.
  • On top of web building and designing tools, I really enjoy and use Acrobat XI Pro (an easy way to edit PDF files)
  • Overall, you are getting access to many different tools and services (see a complete list – adobe.com)
  • For students and current Creative Suite 6 owners its only $20 a month, while for professional designers and photographers this software will cost $600 a year ($50/month).
  • BTW: The Adobe CC change means the Creative Suite software will no longer have updates.  All of the Adobe customers will be forced into using Creative Cloud.
  • A reliable Internet connection is  a must.  Users must verify their Adobe ID at least once a month.

My opinion

I cannot imagine my life without Adobe products. The monthly fee for Creative Cloud is just a small part of my monthly business expenses, while the software itself is something I use for the most of my workday. If you use a pirated version of Adobe products, or its substitutes, this is a great time to make a good investment in your business.
